"a unique piece of object theatre, its skillfully animated, richly dilapidated cast, had the audience captivated. I would thoroughly recommend this delightful and hilarious performance." Joanna Crowson, Circomedia, Bristol.

Suitcase Circus
Suitcase Circus is hosted by a threadbare ringmaster's sock, with a cast of excessively gifted everyday objects including; Madame Teapot the marvelous singing teapot, the Sackrobatic Acrosac billed as the world's only acrobatic potato sack, Dan Uras the dare devil ski glove, a hypnotic snake tie Windsor Knott, comedic socks Alex and Leroy as well as the Incredible Dancing Milkshake Straw.
All performed with a musical accompaniment, which echoes the humor, delight, and wonder, which is Suitcase Circus.

"Oliver is a conceptually innovative and technically accomplished artist… on seeing Suitcase Circus I was impressed by Oliver's ability to suspend the disbelief of an audience with the delightful animation of simple object characters within bizarre storylines. "
Ramon Rivero, Secretary of UNIMA New Zealand

Oliver Smart
Oliver has been exploring puppetry since his sculptures started to move about the studio over a decade ago. Influenced by the miniature circus of Alexander Calder and the films of Jan Shvankmajor, Oliver conceived of a unique brand of object humour, so was born Suitcase Circus.
Since then he has been commissioned to design and construct puppets for theatre, and his puppetry has appeared on film and music videos, throughout Asia, New Zealand and Australia.
As a puppeteer, Oliver has animated all variety of objects and types of puppet, in large theatrical productions as well as smaller devised solo shows.
He loves the socks the most though.
